CHP Officer Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident on 405

A 52-year old motorcycle deputy was hit by another car while making a routine traffic stop on the 405 freeway today. The CHP reported that the officer pulled over an SUV and was standing on the shoulder of the road when a passing car crashed into him and the SUV. The serious Los Angeles car accident shut down the northbound 405 freeway for hours. The officer was taken to the UCLA Medical Center to be treated for his serious injuries, while the SUV passengers reportedly only suffered minor injuries. The condition of the neglogent driver remains unknown.
The irony here is that this officer was doing his job to prevent reckless driving became the victim of a Los Angeles car accident.
