This past Saturday, June 26, 2010, four people sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident on the 210 freeway. One of the victims was a 13-year-old girl who was air lifted to Children's Hospital because of her serious injuries. When one car crashed into several other cars it overturned and caught on fire. The accident happened near Sylmar new the 210 interchange. The three other injury victims were adults and taken to a local San Fernando Hospital to be treated for types of injuries that remain unknown. Unfortunately the cause of this accident is still under investigation and limited details have been released about the possibilities.
SUV rollover accidents can result in fiery car crashes and often cause paralyzing injuries, if not fatal ones. Serious injuries caused by a car flipping over include:
- Head trauma,
- Deep cuts,
- broken bones, and / or
- spinal cord injuries.
Take the 13 year old girl in the above story for example, injuries of this kind could cause her to be extremely limited and immobile for the rest of her life. It is sad to think that her chances of playing a sport or even living on her own might be slim to none.
