Lanes on the 5 freeway south were closed late this morning after a Los Angeles truck accident. Two big rig trucks crashed in Castaic, just north of downtown LA. The California High Patrol reported that a large truck slammed into the back of another 18-wheeler around 6:30 this morning. The collision caused one of the trucks to catch fire, but there was not an explosion. The southbound lanes on interstate 5 were closed for a few hours due to the debris and investigation of the truck accident.
There were no reports indicating that anyone suffered injures in this Los Angeles trucking accident. Even though one truck caught fire authorities said that it was only carrying bread and no other hazardous materials. The drivers of both trucks were lucky to escape such an accident, however other accident victims have not been so fortunate.
