It was recently announced that the Honda Motor Company issued a a recall for nearly 450, 000 motor vehicles. Among the recalled cars are the:
- 2001 and 2002 Accord sedans
- 2001 and 2002 compact Civic
- Odyssey minivans and
- some 2002 Acura TL sedans.
According to the reports the driver's side air bag is defective and could cause serious injury if it went off. The air bag has been found to produce too much pressure which causes metal fragments to shoot out toward the driver upon release. Defective products such as air bags are very dangerous and could cause more injury to a driver than the actual
car accident which provoke the airbag to release. Honda has reported at least 12 incidents related to this defect, and some of which may have occurred during a
Los Angeles car crash.
