3 Children Seriously Injured in Dog Attack East of Los Angeles

On Monday February 1, 2010 three young children suffered major injuries after a pack of dogs attacked a family of 4 who were walking along train tracks.  A 5 year old little girl is in critical condition after the group of dogs attacked her and her two siblings.  The dog pack escaped from a close by yard after digging a whole under the fence.

The  latest report on the little girl states that she is unable to breathe on her own.  She suffered catastrophic injuries as the result of numerous dog bites; injuries including broken ribs, a punctured lung, and deep lacerations.  She may likely be suffering from brain damage.  Statistics reveal that children who are victims of Los Angeles dog attacks usually sustain some kind of a head injury, whether it be a traumatic brain injury (TBI), or an open head wound.  Officers reported that the dangerous dogs snatched the young girl from her mother's protection and mauled her while tossing her from side to side.

There were no reports on the condition of the mother, but one can assume that she is suffering great anxiety and emotional stress over the whole ordeal.  One of her  children may suffer a wrongful death in Los Angeles as the result a dog attack.  Her other children are suffering from injuries as well.  They were sent to a local hospital for their injuries.  One child suffered a serious leg wound and required nearly 300 stitches.  The other child suffered injuries to her arm and legs.
