| Two People Injured in California Amusement Park Accident |
It was reported on September 16, 2009 that the Xcelerator, a popular Knott's Berry Farm roller coaster, malfunctioned causing the injury of two passengers. A man complained of back pains and a young boy suffered a serious laceration to his leg.
The reports said that as the Buena Park, California roller coaster was launched a cable broke and hit the boy and cutting his leg. Some of the passengers reported that the father needed coaching to help prevent the extensive bleeding of his son's deep cuts. Other passengers reported that they were anxious due to the locking up of their safety barks. When the ride stopped short of the loading dock the lap bars locked up preventing passengers from exiting the broken ride.
