| Nursing Home Fined for Negligence and Death of Resident |
In recent news a nursing home in San Diego County has been fined $90,000 for their role in the death of one of their residents. The most severe penalty a nursing home can receive for code violations is an "AA" citation and this facility was in direct violation. The California Department of Public Health reported that after an investigation into this California nursing home inconsistencies and many violations were found.
An outlined care plan for a resident was inadequately followed and this resulted in the patients slipping and falling. This patient suffered very serious injuries while under the care of the hospital staff and those injuries led to fatal complications. The resident suffered sever damage and died as the result of nursing home negligence.
Nursing homes in Los Angeles have been known for their negligence and causing the wrongful death of numerous patients. Various injuries and accidents could be the cause of a resident's death and it is the responsibility of the facility and the nursing staff to prevent said accident from happening.
