Boy Suffers Serious Injuries in Pedestrian Accident

Early this morning as a young boy and his grandfather were walking to school a car hit them. The 5 year old boy was dragged nearly 30 feet while underneath the car. His grandfather landed on top of the vehicle's hood. The boy was transported to Children's Hospital where he is being treated for catastrophic injuries sustained in the accident.
The 84 year old driver of the Dodge Dart claimed that the sun was in her eyes and she was unable to see that there were in fact people crossing the street. The news reports say that the elderly driver has not yet been cited for this accident. The pedestrian accident is under investigation.
