Los Angeles athletes are considered to be icons and heroes to which fans can look up to. Unfortunately, not all CA athletes make wise decisions and sometimes they make very dangerous decisions. In recent news, one of the pitchers for the Los Angeles Dodgers was arrested. Ronald Belisario was pulled over last Saturday for using his cell phone while driving in Pasadena, CA.
The California authorities are reporting the cause of arrest being related to a suspicion they have about the player driving under the influence of alcohol. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer reported that the LA baseball player was pulled over around 2:30 am and showed signs of intoxication.
The LA Dodger's pitcher, Belisario, was released on bail and reported to Dodger's stadium for the scheduled baseball game. The Pasadena Police Department (PPD) is investigating the possibility of pursuing DUI charges.
The issue is not about drinking alcohol, but whether or not this man was operating a vehicle in the state of California while under the influence of alcohol. In this scenario, not only was Belisario illegally using his cell phone while driving near LA, but may have been driving while drunk.
California Law states it's illegal to use your cell phone without a hands-free device. In Los Angeles you are not to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of any form of alcoholic beverage or perception altering drug.
