| Los Angeles Dogs Attack Leaves Elderly Man Seriously Injured |
| Reports were given about an elderly Los Angeles man who was attacked by two dogs while walking on a residential street in Burbank on December 13, 2009. Apparently two pit bulls escaped from a near by yard and attacked the man, who is in his 70s. Two witnesses were able to scare the dogs off and rescue the man from further injuries. He suffered serious dog bite injuries to his arms. The dog bite victim was taken to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.
Dog attacks can result in catastrophic injuries. Statistics show that the elderly and young children are among those who are most susceptible to dog attacks in Los Angeles. California dog laws state that all dog owners are required to have insurance in the case of an attack.
